From time to time, the Education Review Office visits all schools to undertake a review of the school's performance.

Education Reviews focus on school improvement, and ERO Reports are designed to make it easier for schools to see what they are doing well, where they need to improve and what they should do next. MENPS has a history of 4-5 year review periods (the longest cycle of review) assigned to the highest performing schools nationally.

All state schools, including integrated schools and kura kaupapa Māori are open to review by the Review Office.  MENPS' latest ERO review was completed in June 2015.
